Description

Tower Press manufactured this cute puzzle around 1960. The title is The Village Square and it is one of the four puzzles of their Through a Gateway series. There is no reference to the name of the artist on the box.

The puzzle is COMPLETE as you can see in the picture of the puzzle assembled. The box is in very good condition, but it has some tape marks on the base. The pieces are in a very good condition as well, especially given their age. A few pieces have some signs of prior use, as you can see in the image of two such pieces.

Tower Press was a British jigsaw manufacturer, active from the 1930s onwards until 1969 when they were bought by Waddington(s). In their times, Tower Press published a range of nice puzzles with artistic images. Examples are the 1200 piece version of Autumn Tints and the 660 piece version of Springtime.
