1000, Nathan, The Encounter, Vittore Carpaccio

Nathan published this extraordinary puzzle in 1985. The title on the box is The Encounter. The real title of the painting, however, is Meeting of the Betrothed Couple and the Departure of the Pilgrims, by Vittore Carpaccio. It’s the largest painting of the series The Legend from the life of Saint Ursula. You can admire the original painting in the Gallerie dell’Accademia, in Venice.

The puzzle is COMPLETE (1008 pieces). The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition, with some shelf wear and tape remnants on the base, as you can see in the photographs.

There are not many puzzles with paintings by Vittore Carpaccio. Clementoni published a 2000 piece version of The Return of the Ambassadors.
