Description

Druon manufactured this puzzle in 2000, as part of their Passion Afiche series. The title is Orient-Express. There is no reference on the box, but the artist was Rafael de Ochoa y Madrazo. However, there is a signature in the poster: IMP. F. Champenois – Paris. Ferdinand Champenois was a lithographer and publisher who collaborated with Alphonse Mucha.

The Orient Express was the world’s first luxury train, traveling regularly between Paris and Constantinople from 1883. Such posters were used for the long routes and the various stops. An area in the lower right of the poster was designed to be printed with the information necessary for a specific place. The poster therefore exists in various languages and with different texts. It is possible to admire originals of this poster at the Musée de la Fondation Abderrahman Slaoui, in Casablanca. It is also at the Museum Folkwang, in Essen.

The puzzle is NEW, with its original FACTORY SEAL.
