1500, Pelikan, Fox Hunt, John Frederick Herring

This is a very rare puzzle by Pelikan. The title on the box is Fox Hunt, and there is no reference to the artist on the box. The artist, however, is John Frederick Herring Sr., who completed the series of paintings Fox Hunting, with different scenes of the event: The Start, The Meet, The Run, and The Death. These paintings were originally commissioned by William Taylor Copeland, and later became very popular in earthenware, engravings and prints. The scene of this puzzle is The Meet, and it is a theme that has appeared on some other puzzles.

The puzzle is COMPLETE. as you can see in the photograph of the puzzle assembled. The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in good condition, with tape on both lid and base. There are also remnants of an orange sticker, and some writing in blue ink on the lid. The puzzle is mounted in parts.
