Description

Wiebe van der Zee is a Dutch artist who produced this set of puzzles under his own brand. The titles are Kukelemorgen & Heerlijk Scharrelen. These Dutch expression are difficult to translate into English, but we have chosen Cock-a-doodle-doo Morning & Merrily Wandering Around.

The word Kukelemorgen is not a real word in Dutch. It is a mixture of kukeleku and goedemorgen, where kukeleku is the sound a child utters when mimicking the sound of hens; and goedemorgen is good morning. The scene of the puzzle shows some chickens saying good morning to cows. On the other hand, Heerlijk Scharrelen is a Dutch saying for a group of chicken (or children) wandering outdoors in a seemingly aimless manner. That’s why we chose the title Merrily wandering around, since it captures the ambiguity of being applicable to chicken and children alike. (Thank you, Linda, for all your help with the translation).

The puzzles are COMPLETE (2 x 1000 pieces). The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition.

Another puzzle by Wiebe van der Zee is the 1000 piece version of Friesland.
