Description

Waddington (John Waddington Ltd) manufactured this very nice puzzle in 1970 for their Old Masters collection. The title is Triumph of Julius Caesar, by the Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens. The original painting is known as A Roman Triumph, and you can admire it at the National Gallery in London.

The puzzle is COMPLETE, as you can see in the image of the puzzle assembled. The pieces are in almost excellent condition, with minute signs of prior use. The pieces are not fully interlocking and have irregular shapes which is common in older Waddington puzzles. The box is in very good condition, with some dirt and some dents in the corners of the base.

Waddington manufactured also the 400 piece version of The Hireling Shepherd, by William Holman Hunt for their Old Masters collection. Many brands published beautiful puzzles of Rubens paintings. An example is the iconic 5000 piece version of The Tiger Hunt.
