Description

The Angers Museum manufactured this very rare puzzle for an exhibition of old tapestries that took place in the summer of 1987 in Angers, France. The title is Le Jouer de Quilles, by David Teniers the Younger. Teniers’ scenes with peasants were very popular and tapestries with peasant scenes were referred to as Teniers tapestries. However, Teniers did not design most of these tapestries himself. This particular one comes from the Flemish tapestry manufacturers of Lille.

The puzzle is like NEW, with all its pieces still SEALED in the original plastic bag. The box is in excellent condition, with some very minor wear on the corners, and just a some dirt on the back. The puzzle has a historical text on the base.

There are some other puzzles of beautiful tapestries. Examples include Educa‘s 3000 piece version of the “Deer Hunting Tapestry”, by Bernard van Orley, and Nathan‘s 2000 piece version of The Chase, by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.
