1000, Schmidt, Still Life, Menendez

Schmidt manufactured this beautiful puzzle probably in the late 70s or early 80’s, for their Fine Art series. It is very rare and hard to find nowadays. The title on the box is Stilleben, or Still Life, with Menendez as the name of the artist. The original painting however, is by Luis Egidio Meléndez, and it is called Still Life with Pomegranates, Apples, Haw Berries and Grapes in a Landscape. You can admire the original artwork in the Museo del Prado in Madrid.

The puzzle is COMPLETE, as you can see in the photograph of the puzzle assembled. The pieces are in very good condition, especially considering the puzzle is more than 40 years old. The box is in good condition, but it has tape damage on both the lid and the base, and stains on the base.

The Fine Art series by Schmidt include some true puzzle gems. Other examples are the 1000 piece version of the Lion Hunt by Peter Paul Rubens and the 1000 piece version of the Carousel Game by Anton von Werner.
