Description

This is a very rare puzzle by Schmidt, belonging to their Imperator series. The title is Battle of Alexander, by Albrecht Altdorfer. The painting portrays the 333 BC Battle of Issus in which Alexander the Great gained victory over Darius III of Persia in his quest to conquer the Persian Empire. You can admire the original painting at the Alte Pinakothek, in Munich.

This puzzle is like NEW, with all the pieces SEALED inside the original plastic bag. The box is in good condition, with some wear, a tear on a corner, and stains on the base, as you can see in the photographs.

Pelikan published a very rare 1000 piece version of Susanna in the Bath, also by Albrecht Altdorfer.
