Description

The Museum De Lakenhal produced this puzzle with one of their paintings. However, there is very little information in the box about the puzzle. The title translates into The Siege of Leiden, although the actual painting refers to just an episode of that event. The real title is Burgomaster van der Werf offers his sword to the people of Leiden, by Mattheus Ignatius van Bree.

In one of the most dramatic episodes of the siege, burgomaster Van der Werf offered his own body (on some accounts, his arm) to the hungry people of Leiden in order to lift the morale and counter the claims for surrender to the Spanish occupier.

The puzzle is COMPLETE (1000 pieces). The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition.
