Description

This is a very interesting puzzle by Vara Puzzel. There is no information on the box, but this is a school picture (or plate) that teachers used in schools for instructional purposes. There are several puzzles with some of these school plates by Cornelis Jetses. The title of this painting from 1935 is At the Grocer. The publisher was J.B. Wolters; the authors were F. Evers, R. Kuitert, and I. van der Velde; and the illustrator was Johannes Gabrielse. The plate belongs to the series Van Kindertaal tot Moedertaal (From Child Language to Mother Tongue).

The puzzle is COMPLETE (1200 pieces), as you can see in the photograph of the puzzle assembled. The pieces are in excellent condition, except for 1 piece with a knob peeled off. The box is in good condition, with some shelf wear, tape remnants, and small tape tears.

Vara published a similar 1200 piece version of The Traffic, with another school plate by Johannes Gabrielse.
