Description

Nathan manufactured this puzzle in 1976. The title on the box is The Redoutable at Trafalgar, by Auguste Étienne François Mayer. The real title of the picture is unknown. However, the two titles under which it is usually identified are Combat Glorieux du Vaisseau le Bucentaure contre trois Vaisseaux Anglais and Scene of the Battle of Trafalgar. The picture is one of six that Mayer painted in 1836 about the struggle and fights of ship of the line Bucentaure during the Battle of Trafalgar. You can admire the original painting at the Musée National de la Marine, in Paris.

The puzzle is like NEW, with all the pieces SEALED inside the original plastic bag. The box is in excellent condition.

In 1981 Ravensburger published a 1000 piece puzzle version of this painting with the title Flagships in Battle.
