Description

This is a very old and rare puzzle that Ravensburger produced in 1972. The title is The Chase, by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.

Although the artist of the original painting is Jean-Baptiste Oudry, it is, in fact, a tapestry that came from the famous Gobelins Manufactory. The name of the artist appears in the image, in one of the rocks in the foreground: “Oudry 1.746”. In the box by Ravensburger, the date is 1743, which is surely an error. The name of the weaver appears also at the bottom right corner: “AUDRAN”. It refers to Jean Audran.

The puzzle is NEW, with its original FACTORY SEAL. The box is in very good condition, with some slight tears on the seal.

In 1973 Ravensburger published a 1000 piece version of Stag Hunt, also by Jean-Baptiste Oudry.
