Description

This is a very rare puzzle by Optimago. The title on the box is Elephants. The complete title, however, is Elephant Taming, and it is a Burmese late 19th century cloth painting. You can admire the original cloth at the Victoria and Albert Museum, in London.

Optimago Ltd were a prolific manufacturer of wooden jigsaw puzzles established in London in 1979. They ceased their activity in 2005. Their puzzles were not laser-cut. Instead, they preferred the more labor-intensive but traditional method of scroll saw cutting.

This puzzle is not for sale and it only appears for documentation purposes.

There are not many puzzles by Optimago. Another one is the 300 piece version of Les Carreau des Halles, by Victor Gabriel Gilbert.
