Description

This is remarkable ROUND puzzle that Jaymar Specialty Co. published in the 60’s, so it is is over 50 years old. The title is Rosette, Detail from a Jahangir and Shah Jahan Illumination, Indian, Mughal (1605-1628). It represents an illumination made by Jahangir and Shah Jahan. You can admire the original at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Nowadays you can buy many different products decorated with this beautiful rosette.

The puzzle is COMPLETE, as you can see in the photograph of the puzzle assembled. For their age, the pieces are in very good condition, except for 2 of them, as you can see in the photographs. On a small spot there is some discoloration, perhaps caused by humidity than transpired from the base of the puzzle, which is red. You can notice that many pieces have very thin links and parts due to the way the puzzle was cut. For that reason, the puzzle is kept assembled on a piece of cardboard protected with silk paper, in order to prevent further stress on the pieces. However, I can disassemble the puzzle for shipment upon request.

The box is in poor condition, with tears in all the corners. There are tape remnants on the sides. The box will be shipped as it is, since it will reduce the volumetric weight of the package, unless the buyer prefers that I fix it.

Puzzles by Jaymar are very old and they don’t appear very often. We have been able to list a 500 piece version of Model T, by Norman Rockwell.
