Description

This is a very nice puzzle that very rarely appears outside of Spain. The title is Carta de Juan de la Cosa. Año de 1500, or Map of Juan de la Cosa. The publisher is the Instituto Geográfico Nacional of Spain, or National Geographic Institute. This Institute is linked to the Spanish Ministry of Public Works and Transports (Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes or MOPT), which later became the Ministerio de Fomento. Although it is not visible in the box, there is a very tiny statement that says that the manufacturer was Educa. In fact, the puzzle connoisseur would probably guess it by the design of the box. That means that the National Geographic Institute published the puzzle, but Educa actually produced it in their factory.

The puzzle is COMPLETE, as you can see in the photographs of the puzzle assembled. The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition, with some shelf wear and a large tape tear on the base.

Another puzzle by the Instituto Geográfico Nacional of Spain is the 1500 piece version of Carta General Conteniendo los Mundos Celeste, Terrestre y Civil de N. Jaugeon. Año de 1688.
