Description

Mondopuzzle manufactured this puzzle for their Art Collection. The title is Massacre of the Innocents, by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This version of the painting was acquired by the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolph II. Before buying it, he had ordered the original painting to be overpainted, by replacing the images of dead and dying infants by images of food items and sacks of goods. The resulting painting thus became a plunder scene instead of a massacre. It is now in the British Royal Collection.

This puzzle is NEW, with its original FACTORY SEAL.

There are many puzzles with paintings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. For example, Jumbo manufactured a 1500 piece version of his Dutch Proverbs and Puzzelman published a 1000 piece version of The Census at Bethlehem.
