Description

This interesting map puzzle was manufactured by Schmidt. The title on the box is Ancient Map of the World. The complete title is Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Tabula Amstelodami per C. Danckerts cum Privil. The author is probably Cornelis Danckerts II, who was the son of Justus Danckerts.

The puzzle is COMPLETE, as you can see in the photographs. The pieces are in excellent condition. The box is in very good condition, but the base shows a stain and the remnant of a sticker with a marker band, as the photographs illustrate.

Almost all major brands have produced puzzles of ancient world maps. An example is the 2000 piece version of Map of the World from 1650, by Willem Blaeu, which Ravensburger published in 1992.
